Overview
The French border is right around the corner, yet Polpetta is all about bringing traditional Italian cuisine to Monaco. Founded in 1977, this low-key trattoria wouldn't look out of place on the streets of Salerno or Sardinia, with crowds attracted to authentic meat and fish specialities.
Said to be Prince Rainier III's favourite restaurant, the low-fuss food and decor diverge from Monaco's high-end institutions. Instead, you'll find sea bass and salmon alongside heapings of tagliatelle, gnocchi and trofie. Best of all, the bill won't leave you in shock.
