Overview
Monaco has long been fascinated with the oceans, with Albert I helping to pioneer the field of oceanography in the early 1900s. Eventually, this scholarly passion led to the creation of the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco, a leading aquarium, museum and research centre.
Inside, you'll discover giant tanks dedicated to sharks, coral creatures and tropical fish. Meanwhile, the museum space presents a rich collection of oceanographic instruments, marine-inspired art and curious discoveries made by Albert I in the deepest parts of the ocean.
