With 80 percent of tickets snapped up before the first lineup drop, Rhythm and Vines has been one of the most anticipated events of festival season. Finally, organisers have lifted the lid on the first roll call of acts, and fans of house, electronic and hip hop won't be disappointed.

California rapper Vince Staples will fly in to headline the festival. Performing the New Year's Eve set, Staples follows a list of leading hip hop stars in R&V's 16-year history, including Public Enemy, Wiz Khalifa, Chance the Rapper and ScHoolboy Q.

He's joined on the bill by British drum and bass producer Wilkinson who will make his fourth appearance at Waiohika Estate — this time with a full live show. Elsewhere, French producer Tchami will team up with the mysterious Malaa for a throbbing set of deep house.

Also on the bill are Australian producer duo Flight Facilities, electronic heavyweights Duke Dumont, Habstrakt, drum and bass act Sigma and supergroup SASASAS. Superclub and dance brand Space Ibiza will also be hosting the Rhythm Stage on 30 December bringing pyrotechnics, confetti and other madness associated with the party island.

The New Zealand flag will be flying high with performances from Baynk, JessB, Montell2099, Robinson and Che Fu who is teaming up with DJ Sirvere.

More than 21,000 punters are expected across the three-day festival. A full schedule and final release of acts is due in November.
