Rooftop Sunday Session Anno Domini Is Back for 2018
Bringing together three influential dance producers.
Following two sold-out runs, rooftop event series Anno Domini will return for its third outing atop Auckland Art Gallery this summer. The series takes its lead from rooftop events popular in New York and Europe and is touted as the ultimate afternoon Sunday session, bringing together great music, food and drink.
The 2018 edition will be condensed into one special show on Sunday 11 March featuring three influential dance producers on the gallery's East Terrace.
Kenny Dixon Jr., otherwise known as Moodymann, will be flying in to headline the event. The Detroit DJ is a cult-hero to anyone even half-way interested in dance music. Moodymann is considered to have "developed hybrid modes of recording and performance incorporating analog and digital media — the playing of 'real' instruments with 'pushing buttons live'."
Janette Pitruzzello aka DJ JNETT has a career that spans two decades. The Melbourne native has been spinning records and creating heat with high-class dance music across the ditch since the early '90s.
Rounding out the lineup will be Orlagh Dooley, aka Or:la. The UK DJ and musician is known for her genre-melding DJ sets. She was named DJ Mag's Breakthrough DJ of 2017 and One to Watch in 2018 by Mixmag. This will be her first time playing in New Zealand.
All that, plus refreshments from Spy Valley Wines, Angostura Rum, Dancing Sands Distillery, Sacred Spring Gin, Tito's Handmade Vodka, Kronenbourg 1664 and Red Bull.
