Silo Park Has Announced the Second Half of Its Summer Entertainment Lineup
Season eight will finish with a jam-packed schedule of films, markets and events under the stars.
This summer's Silo Park season has already seen a jam-packed lineup of blockbusters and timeless classics, a market dedicated to ice cream and a massive cardboard city constructed from recycled materials. The second half of the program has now been revealed with plenty of events taking place under the stars at the waterfront community space.
Weekends start with the Silo Bar, an abundance of food trucks and the much-loved Silo Cinema. Each Friday night at 8pm, films including Mission: Impossible - Fall Out, Ocean's 8, Lady Bird and First Man will be projected onto one of the former petrochemical silos.
Still on the agenda is the Car Boot Sale of the Future on 9 February which will offer trinkets, treasures and gems from the garage and beyond; Wastescape, an immersive installation by British artist Gayle Chong Kwan; an event from food rescue organisation KiwiHarvest which will see five food trucks (Pie Piper, Judge Bao, Hangi Master, Rolling Pin, and Lalele Organic Gelato) create meals entirely from rescued kai; Dog Day Afternoon, a day out for canine lovers and their furry friends, plus four weekends dedicated to global street food, beginning with a celebration of Māori and Pasifika culture on 16 February.
The 2018-19 Silo season will take place until 31 March. For the full program and more information, visit silopark.co.nz.
