The Zoomable Paper Map
Based on what must be Origami origins, Map2 is a smartly designed paper map that lets you zoom without going digital
There’s something awfully sweet and hipster-esque about this wee invention. However, unlike most things that fall into this category, it is actually very practical. While it’s still in its early days, the Map2, could very well become a staple tourist accessory for many major cities.
Based on what must be Origami origins, Map2 is a smartly designed paper map that lets you zoom without going digital. The folded map allows the user to open a section of the map to reveal an enlarged, more detailed version of the same area. So, whereas on your phone you might pinch, here you fold. When it's not being used the map collapses into a 4-inch square that can easily be tucked away into a wallet or pocket.
The project is currently sitting on Kickstarter and if funds are met, the next map to join London and Berlin will be The Big Apple.
