Overview

Feel like taking your music from your mum's garage to the Billboard Hot 100 Chart? Or maybe just being the next Zane Lowe? Whatever your particular music industry ambition is, the Going Global Music Summit is here to inspire, coach and push you along your path to glory by helping you understand the business side of the music business.

The 2016 programme includes panel discussions on how to plan a live music tour (including the importance of choosing territories, your tour set up, timing and how to maximise your funds and time while on the road); on taking on Australia and Asia; on getting the most out listener insights; life from an A&R perspective; gender imbalance in the music industry; festival bookings and more.

International speakers include: Maggie Collins, the Australian festival programmer behind BIGSOUND and triple j presenter; Matty Newtown, the Pandora music editor for Australia and New Zealand, Ronan Mason, the co-founder and CEO of MuzeRoom, a music news website; and Henry Compton, the Director of Australia & New Zealand business The Orchard, a music, video and film distribution company.

Because it wouldn't be a music summit without some actual music, day two will wrap up with a live showcase from twelve local acts. Taking the stage between Whammy, Whammy Backroom and Wine Cellar will be: Tami Neilson, Gareth Thomas, Maya Payne, Shakes, Yukon Era, Anna Coddington, Decades, Baker's Eddy, Groeni, Bailey Wiley feat. Yoko Zuna, Sachi and Openside.

Go on, buy your tickets already. A cool $86.25 will bring you one step closer to making your dreams come true.
