'Long Day's Journey into Night' at the Q Theatre
With discounted ticket prices and even a 'pay as you feel' evening, there's no excuse to miss this gritty family drama.
Overview
Get out of the rain and enjoy an evening of top-quality theatre this month by heading along to see the Auckland Theatre Company's production of Long Day's Journey into Night.
Running at the Q Theatre from July 5 until July 30, this gritty family drama was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1957 and is widely regarded as a masterpiece of 20th-century American playwriting. Audience members are set to be thrust right into the action of this deeply moving depiction of one shocking day in the lives of the Tyrone family.

If you haven't been to the theatre recently — or ever — consider this your motivation to change that. On Tuesday, July 12, a special 'pay what you wish' performance will be held, with everyone welcome — and yes, you literally pick your own ticket price. On top of that, tunes, drinks, art installations and a free photo booth will be provided, followed by the performance.
And good news for Gen Zs — in a push to get more young people along to the theatre, tickets are $30 for under 30s for the full season run. Grab some friends or a theatre-loving family member, grab some dinner and make a night of it.
