Pickle Week
Ready your palate for pickle-loaded bagels and gherkin burgers.
Overview
International Pickle Day is officially recognised on Thursday, November 14, and to celebrate more than 30 eateries across the country are introducing mouthwatering and outright bonkers menu additions for an entire week.
American pickle company McClure's and local distributor Cook & Nelson are behind the drive, while Wellington restaurants Best Ugly, Grill Meats Beer and Park Kitchen will be getting into the spirit with themed dishes.
The eateries will be serving up items from gherkin-packed reuben sandwiches and pickle bagels to the more adventurous pickle burger. Diners will also be able to wash down the zing of spiced gherkin with some pickle-infused drinks.
There are 32 eateries from Auckland to Wellington and Queenstown involved. The International Pickle Day dishes will be available from November 11–17.
