LCD Soundsystem Set to Release New Album Before Disbanding
LCD's last release is raw, rough and real.
You may have thought that you had heard the last from LCD Soundsystem, hotly tipped to be disappearing from the scene in 2011. But the classiest of class acts is keeping us on our toes by slamming us with another new release in the New Year.
The London Sessions will follow hot on the heels of acclaimed 2010 album, This is Happening, and features James Murphy, co-founder of NYC label DFA, as you've never heard him before – raw, rough around the edges and real. This radio-style live recording features nine tracks taken from their studio albums and spans the entire life of the band.
But that life will not last much longer; indeed, the end is looming. LCD's last Australian show will be at Big Day Out in January, but if you've missed out on tickets for that then keep an eye on the racks for this gem from 21st January (already available digitally) – almost as good as seeing them live.
