Liberating the art of the martini one sip at a time.

Few cocktails have names that evoke a particular mode of drinking quite like the martini. It’s the drink for the impeccably tailored 007, a sophisticated experience that takes the best spirits and pairs them with the most complimentary ingredients.

But there’s more than one way to do this iconic cocktail, and it’s a drink that shouldn’t just be reserved for well-heeled evenings on the town — the experience of drinking a martini is just as pleasurable at home as it is in the most refined bars of your city.

To step up your at-home martini game, we’ve teamed up with Stoli Vodka to introduce you to four inventive martini recipes that anyone with a few simple tools and ingredients can make at home. Let’s get mixing.

Simple

Cucumber Martini

Cocktails can be examined on a scale of intensity with neat spirits on one end and a soft drink on the other. At the rough ⅓ point of the line between neat and sweet is the cucumber martini. Cucumber and vodka make for a winning combination on the palate, as cool and refreshing as it is flavoursome and sharp. This serve is perfect for a warm day when you want to unwind with a not-too-stiff drink in hand.

CUCUMBER MARTINI

Serves one

Ingredients
50ml Stoli© Cucumber Vodka
25ml lime juice
25ml simple syrup
6-8 fresh mint leaves
Sliced ribbon of cucumber

Method
Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled glass and garnish with a freshly peeled ribbon of cucumber.

TIP: firmly press mint leaves to release their oils then add to the garnish for an extra minty kick.

Sour

Grapefruit Martini

Almost as popular as the combo of vodka and cucumber is that of vodka and citrus, balancing the heat of the vodka with citrus and opening it up for more flavours. In this example, grapefruit brings the drink to life, adding both sweetness and tartness to delight the tastebuds and a warm orange hue to bring a festive feel to any bar table. This easy refreshing drink is perfect for celebrations both indoors and outdoors.

GRAPEFRUIT MARTINI

Serves one

Ingredients
50ml Stoli© Premium Vodka
50ml grapefruit juice
15ml triple sec
15ml dry vermouth
Grapefruit peel
Salt

Method
Wet the edge of your glass with a slice of grapefruit, then rim it with salt, wiping away any on the inside of the glass. Add your ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds, then strain into your rimmed glass. Squeeze your grapefruit peel into the drink to finish.

Sweet

Caramel Apple Martini

If you’re not looking to avoid a traditional flavour combo, take a trip down a sweeter road with the fruity delight that is the caramel apple martini. While a touch more complex to craft than other martinis, this combination of caramel sweetness, fruity notes and the spicy hit of cinnamon will be a hit for anyone who leans to the sweet side when it comes to their cocktails. Reserve this serve for a rainy night or winter house party to add big flavour to a fine night in.

CARAMEL APPLE MARTINI

Serves one

Ingredients
50ml Stoli© Salted Karamel Vodka
25ml apple juice
15ml lime juice
15ml maple syrup OR simple syrup
Cinnamon sugar
Caramel sauce

Method
Wet the rim of a chilled glass with a lime, then rim it with cinnamon sugar and drizzle with caramel sauce. Add your ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 20 seconds, then strain into your glass.

Spicy

Spicy Martini

Sometimes all you need is a little fire in your belly and spring in your step, and the drink of choice for that would be the spicy martini. With the combined power of lime and jalapeños, this hassle-free cocktail is made of only a handful of ingredients but manages to pack the full flavour of any expertly-crafted cocktail. Simply mix, shake and pour for a martini unlike any you’ve experienced before.

SPICY MARTINI

25ml rosé of your choice
3-6 slices of chilli
Fresh whole chilli
