Overview

Canberra is abuzz with excellent eateries and cool bars. One that stands out is Temporada, a vibing inner-city dining room known for its innovative, share-style menu. The cosy fit-out is perfect for romantic evenings, in a minimal and clean yet intimate and inviting sort of way. Start with a cocktail — perhaps a house negroni with locally made gin — before diving into the extensive wine list, which features a good mixture of European and Australian labels.

The menu is seasonal and showcases local produce. Smaller dishes might include plates like stracciatella, fig, shiso, walnut and smoked vanilla. You might then tuck into larger dishes like charcoal-grilled lamb rump, merguez sausage, tahini yoghurt and eggplant. There are two set dinner menus currently available (an eight-course for $70 and a ten-course for $90).
