The slump after New Year's Eve can be brutal — 12 months is just far too long to wait for another blowout on the dance floor. Luckily, that's where Bay Dreams comes in. The music festival will once again carry the shenanigans into the new year with its fifth outing on January 2, 2019.

Following last year's sold out event, Bay Dreams will again be held at Mount Maunganui's Trustpower Baypark Stadium, with the second edition of its sister festival taking place in Nelson at Trafalgar Park on January 4.

Leading the first lineup announcement for 2020 are international superstars Halsey and Tyler, the Creator. With a string of chart-topping hits to her name, including 'Without Me' and 'Nightmare', and a pair of Grammy nominations, Halsey ranks high up on the pop ladder. She last performed here in a confetti, smoke and lighting-filled show at Auckland's Spark Arena in 2018.

Bay Dreams will serve as Tyler, the Creator's first visit to New Zealand in five years. The Odd Future rapper has previously been denied entry into the country after being deemed a "potential threat to public order and the public interest." His performance follows the release of his critically acclaimed album IGOR

Also flying in for the party will be international acts Skepta, Yelawolf, Ella Mai, Ocean Alley, Netsky and Sub Focus. See the full lineup below.
