Tuki Bakery isn't really a bakery, at least not in the traditional sense. Argentine couple Lourdes Abboud and Mauro Cardoselli bake from their home kitchen, then arrange pick-up points in Darlinghurst for customers who have ordered by DM. There's no shopfront, no delivery, and no browsing the shelves — you need to know what you're after and get your order in. What you're after is medialunas, Argentina's version of a croissant. They have the familiar crescent shape of a croissant, but the texture is softer and more brioche-like, with a glossy finish, sweet syrup, and a lightly syrup-soaked base. For something this good, a DM and a Darlinghurst pickup aren't much of a hurdle. And supporting small businesses is always a good idea in our books.
