Overview

Over 100 venues will be participating in Wellington's new ten-day Eat, Drink, Play festival this May. In an effort to generate some buzz for the hospitality community, each participating venue has been tasked with creating a Wellington-themed meal and drink pairing or hosting a unique event.

At St Johns Bar & Eatery you're invited to step back in time to the magical 1920s. For one night only on Friday, May 14, the waterfront venue will black out its windows to create a Prohibition-era speakeasy. The scene will be set with candles and roaring 1920s live music.

After whispering the secret password to get in, the evening will be filled with themed prohibition drinks and canapes like southern-style fried chicken, cheeseburger sliders and oysters.
