Overview

BATS, widely recognised as the coolest little theatre in Wellington, is putting on its birthday hat this April. For the last 30 years, it has provided a platform for all the quirky, creative projects that NZ talent can offer. On April 6, it's celebrating with a one-night-only extravaganza of music, theatre and performance.

Started in 1989, BATS has spent the last three decades showcasing a year-round program where just about anything goes. From theatre to dance to stand-up, it supports Aotearoa artists in creating the work that matters to them. A not-for-profit organisation that sustains itself through funding and donations, BATS has been the starting point for many of the country's artists.

The BATStravaganza will start at Embassy Theatre, with a variety showcase of highlights from past shows. Following that, you'll head to the BATS Theatre itself. Live music, fundraising raffles and support from Garage Project and Sweet Mother's Kitchen make this one to lock in. $35 gets you a ticket to the Embassy event, $45 throws in the BATS afterparty, and $85 gets you the whole hog with prime seating and pre-drinks with the artists.
