Overview

Here in Welly, there are a few things we love: craft beer, coffee, chocolate and collabs. Now, thanks to a local brewery and a chocolate company, we can taste a fantastic fusion of all four.

Local legends Black Dog Brewery and Wellington Chocolate Factory have teamed up to produce the Bean Me Up mochaccino stout, a moreish blend of chocolate, coffee and beer. It doesn't get more Wellington than that.

To celebrate the launch of this new experimental brew, along with the release of another funky number, the Lone Wolf Citra IPA, you're invited to a uniquely Wellington party — a two-part tasting journey hosted by Black Dog brewmaster Adrian Klemp and Wellington Chocolate Factory co-founder Gabe Davidson.

First up, explore the origins of Bean Me Up at the Wellington Chocolate Factory. Chocolate and beer-lovers alike will fall head over heels for this creamy brew. Sample this decadent drop before rolling up your sleeves to create your own beer-infused chocolate. Mocha martinis and ice cream floats will also be served to keep the party vibes going.

For part two of the festivities, stroll up the road to Black Dog Brewery on Cuba Street. Here the focus will be on the second of the new experimental brews, the Lone Wolf Citra IPA. Get to know this zesty, citrus brew and try other single-hopped beers.

Tickets are $20 per person and include tastings at both venues, chocolate making, dessert treats, plus platters and bar snacks to keep you fuelled along the way.
