If you’ve always fancied yourself a bit of a bartender, then head along to the Classic Soda and Siphon Workshop. Six Barrel Soda are revealing their tricks, teaching attendees how to use a soda siphon to make all your favourite classic soda fountain drinks. Think floats, egg creams and spiders, you’ll be the starring act of every party once you have these tricks up your sleeve.
Six Barrel Soda Co are loved for keeping it fresh and on trend with their bevvies. They’ve always got an interesting assortment that’ll have you oohing and aahing, and sometimes even questioning their sanity. They’ve got everything from your classic cola (kola nut), to refreshers (lemon), to desserts (vanilla cream), to health remedies (celery tonic), to flowers (hibiscus) and even a few you’ve never heard of (sarsaparilla). The best part about Six Barrel’s concoctions is the way they keep you guessing. Hours have been spent trying to pinpoint the flavours that have been used to create the final beverage, which makes the whole experience a bit of fun.
And now the group are offering the opportunity to learn from the best, experiment with ingredients and garnishes and methods, in order to make your very own soda. If you’re showing some talent, they’ll even let you take your siphon home for an extra $90, and you can grab your very own siphon gas and syrups on the night, so that you can continue your cocktail creations in the comfort of your own kitchen.
