Dead Tragic
Inspired by corny songs in which people meet unfortunate ends.
Overview
Dead Tragic makes no bones about what it is; a musical which will make you laugh, cringe and smile.
It was first performed in 1991 and it's back by popular demand with a mostly original line-up. The idea for the musical came about when performers were rehearsing for another play and started listing all their favourite corny songs where people meet unfortunate ends. They had so much fun they decided to turn it into a play.
The result is a great bunch of grisly songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s. Dead Tragic will answer many musical mysteries such as who actually shot who at Copacabana beach? What did they do to Maria? Why did Billy Joe MacAllister jump off the Tallahatchie Bridge?
This variety show of misfortune is sure to get you toe tapping and belting out the hits (sorry, had to appropriately finish on a cheesy note).
