Overview

Giselle Clarkson is best-known for her illustrations of classic New Zealand biscuits. She also recently finished drawing lots of fantastic food for Alexandra Tylee's latest cookbook, 'Egg and Spoon', an illustrated cookbook that celebrates imagination, confidence and the fun of cooking.

As part of Welly On a Plate, Giselle is setting up at Johnsonville Library for two illustration workshops where she'll show participants how to draw their favourite food and share tips and tricks on how to make food look as appetising on the page as it does on the plate.

From there, participants will head to the library cafe, Common Ground, to make the sesame noodles recipe from the 'Egg and Spoon' cookbook. Drawing materials and recipe ingredients will be supplied.

The event is best suited to those aged 7–12. The event is free, but registration is required. To RSVP, email [email protected].
