Overview

A New Zealand Festival exclusive, Grizzly Bear will alight on Wellington for two shows only. Heralded by those known as "the best record of the noughties," (the guy who fronts Fleet Foxes), and "my favourite band in the world," (one of the members of Radiohead).

Five albums from Grizzly Bear have cemented their reputation for psychedelic dreaminess, with "equal parts chamber music, rock, electronic effects and baroque Americana."

They've been on a five-year sabbatical and are back with their unexpected brand of musical craft and an intimate understanding of how to move their audiences (sometimes to tears, apparently). Painted Ruins is their latest release — head along to the show and figure out for yourself why they've got this kind of staying power.
