After the year we've just endured, you could probably use a hug from an adorable squishy-faced pup. Well here's some good news to wrap your arms around: Wellington's favourite dog hugging festival is back for 2021.
This time, the hugely popular Hug a Pug is heading to Upper Hutt's craft beer theme park on Saturday, April 10. Run by local community group, Wellington Pug Grumble, the event was created to raise money for the New Zealand Pug Rescue, an initiative which helps old and infirm pugs get the love and attention they need. Previous events have attracted dog lovers by the hundreds, and more than 50 huggable pugs.
Tickets for the event will be available by gold coin donation on the day.
