Overview

The team behind Kotahi Music Festival are bringing the all-ages musical event back this Waitangi Day. Special musical acts will help the crowd celebrate on the day of a pivotal moment in New Zealand history.

This year's lineup includes DJ Takas as the opening act, with the Kahurangi School kapa haka group, Laughton Kora, Tiki Taane and Ria Hall performing throughout the day.

Kotahi translates to 'unity', and the festival, which was established in 2014, is designed to bring together the community and encourage local pride, belonging, resilience and manaakitanga.

Along with New Zealand music is local food an entertainment. Entry is by koha and the food and entertainment prices are affordable to enable many to attend. Past versions of the event have seen 3500 show up — both locals and visitors alike.

The festival takes place at the natural amphitheater at Kahurangi School in Wellington.
