Overview

Labyrinthine is not your regular theatre production experience. Sure there is a storyline and actors and a beginning, middle and end. Based on the inner workings of the troubled mind of a young girl, audiences experience the story through her eyes and with the aid of song and dance, acting, animation and soundscapes.

What makes the show one less typical, though, is the way we receive the story. Instead of watching a stage from darkened bleachers, audiences are able to participate in the show, and experience the plot as it takes place. Don a mask upon entry and follow the story through a maze of sets and scenes. Where theatre engages the eyes and ears, Labyrinthine aims to engage every sense, letting audience taste, smell and feel the story as it unfolds.

From the same mind that conjured up award winning performance Traces. Ghosts From the Archives at last year’s Fringe, Tabitha Arthur’s latest is set to shock once again. She has described Labyrinthine as a creepy, dark and fully immersive fairytale for adults. One that aims to inspire and instigate self-reflection. And one that sounds as though it might trigger a few nightmares.
