Overview

The winning play of this year's Playmarket B4 25 competition hopes to blur the lines between a story and real life.

Written by acclaimed Wellington writer Cassandra Tse, Long, Long Ago is described as a poetic exploration of siblinghood, loss, death and life. The original piece follows three siblings; a postgraduate student obsessed with fairytales, a wannabe actress/cynical phone psychic and a teenage boy who loves flying machines - plus there's a talking Tui. The trio are forced to confront a past they've tried to out run when Audrey moves in with her older sister Ella.

Under the direction of Lori Leigh, with an original score composed by Michael Stebbings, and featuring performances from Isobel MacKinnon, Susie Berry and Jack Buchanan, Long, Long Ago will make its premiere outing at BATS Theatre from the June 23 to 27, 2015.
