Overview

One of the most promising new acts to rise to the surface of New Zealand’s music scene of late, Louis Baker combines a rich voice with superb lyrics for one dang impressive take on modern soul. Earlier this year I was lucky enough to make acquaintances with this talented dude. It was an intimate media showcase and all he had was an acoustic and one helluva set of pipes – needless to say, I was enthralled.

He's been busy spreading his tunes across the UK and Australia and recording his debut album, 'Just Want to Thank You' with the revered Red Bull Music Academy - no biggie.

Now becoming a bit of a tradition in Wellington in December, Louis Baker returns to his home city with his band and some very special guests to play a show that is guaranteed to get you on your feet. Different from his usual sit-down sets, Baker is preparing to bring the soul, blues and grooves from 10:30pm, with doors open at 9:00pm. Early bird tickets are going for just $15 a pop, so lock those down, stat.
