Heading south to Central Otago this winter? Among adventuring and sampling the local fare, put a visit to Maggie Marilyn's new winter-pop up space on your itinerary. The first South Island offering from the Auckland-based designer, MM's Home Away From Home is tucked into a private residence among Wānaka's snow-capped mountains.

Shoppers will be able to browse threads from the brand's latest capsule collection Forever in a cosy living room, along with the brand's famous merino knitwear, tracksuits and puffer jackets. After all, where better to shop your winter wardrobe than in a winter wonderland? Recover from the conditions with warm pastries, hot coffee and mulled wines — all served next to a roaring fireplace. A bit of a step up from a trip to the local mall.

The pop-up will be running for two weeks only, from Thursday, June 30 until Wednesday, July 13. Open Monday to Friday from 9am- 5pm, and Saturday to Sunday, 10am-4pm, bookings are by appointment only, so email [email protected] to secure your spot — and find out the location of the private house.
