There is no such thing as a perfect plan.

Overview

Are you still not quite sure exactly what a hipster is? Or intrigued to know how far a desperate man will go? Then ask yourself what comes to mind when you hear the word kidnap? An intriguing combination of subjects, yes, but these are the topics that the stand alone play Once Upon a Time In Wellington combines to create this fast paced black comedy.

Dennis and Gene think they have it sorted with their perfect kidnap scheme. They have been out of prison for a few months and are finding life outside the bars tough. Even their perfect kidnap plan goes awry, with the appearance of a man they call ‘Chef’.

The play is the third play in Tza Drake’s cult Restaurant With No Name trilogy following Once Upon a Time in Aro Valley in 2009 and My Kitchen Kills in 2013. We all know in real life ‘perfect’ plans (no matter how well thought out), don’t always run smoothly an in Once Upon a Time In Wellington things are no different.
