Opening of the Pukeahu National War Memorial Park
Welcome in a beautiful new place of remembrance.
Overview
Wellingtonians will in recent memory recollect the various renovations going on around one Wellingtons most iconic buildings, the National War Memorial. To coincide with the centenary of World War 1 the site received a facelift and a new park was created to add another beautiful area in central Wellington to lounge about on those glorious days when the wind abates and the sun comes out.
The opening is another event to commemorate the Great War and as such there will be speeches and a degree of formality.
