Outdoor Movie Night at Southern Cross: Wes Anderson's Grand Budapest Hotel

Wes Anderson's films are a place of escape — where people can escape their garish, wonkily-arranged world and revel in Anderson's pastel colours and neatly-aligned opening shots.

After a hotly-contested vote, the Southern Cross will be screening The Grand Budapest Hotel, Anderson's most recent work. The tale of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel and his right-hand lobby boy Zero Moustafa, this escapade of a film traverses through a world of Eastern European luxury hotels between the first and second world wars. Throw the theft of a priceless renaissance painting into the mix, and the film is on its way.

As usual, the Cross are suppling heaters, blankets, beanbags, popcorn and snacks for those movie-goers who brave the winter cold to hang out and watch the movie. The showing is also themed, so wear your best concierge hat or mink coat (we'd go for the latter, given the weather).
