Overview
American vocalist Robert Owens is stopping by Wellington's Bodega on Friday night.
Owens is best known for his work with Fingers Inc in the mid-1980s, forming part of and pioneering the golden era of Chicago house scene.
Owens sang gospel as a child, but continued to be stylistically inspired by the genre long after breaking into house music - "Tears" and "I'll Be Your Friend" notable examples of this influence. Although attending his concert may feel like a tad bit of a time warp, Owens work continues to permeate culture with his song "I'll Be Your Friend" appearing in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in 2004.
