Auguste Rodin is one of the world's most famous figures of art and sculpture. Since his death 100 years ago, he's still considered one of the world's most radical sculptors. Why?

A talk by Dr Mark Stocker at Te Papa will explore how Rodin rose to fame, looking at the difficulties he faced throughout his life and work, the oft-controversial work he produced that divided the art world on occasion, and whether some of his works are overrated. He'll look at some of Rodin's most important work, including The Thinker and The Kiss, and you'll be able to see Eve, a rarely-glimpsed bronze from the Te Papa collection.
