Overview

They're tangy, a bit wild and you probably wouldn't introduce them to your mother. That's right folks – old Sourfest is back at Heyday Brewery, complete with an exhaustive collection of the finest Kiwi sours to wake up those tired tastebuds.

But what really makes Sourfest 2019 stand out from the rest? Perhaps it's Heyday Brewery's ability to pull together all the sour experts this fine land holds, and for one day show the capital that craft beer doesn't start and finish with an IPA. Or maybe it's Wellington's bendy answer to John Mayer – Paul Saker-Norrish. Many of you know his vulnerable tunes and dashing good looks from Yoga Rhapsody, this acoustic charmer will be out in the Heyday courtyard beside the jenga for you all day long.

But what can we expect to drink at this one-day event? Auckland legends Urbanaut Brewery will be making an appearance, featuring their brand new Gracia Kiwifruit sour. If you're a passionfruit or raspberry fiend, stick around for a Maiden Bros or a Choice Bros pint after a game of jenga. But coming to you straight from the capital is Heyday's very own Agua Fresca series (named after the Mexican drink of the same name). Featuring hot, hot favourites like tamarind, pineapple and nectarine, they're sure to go down a treat. And continuing on that Mexican theme – Heyday are providing a red hot special of $12 Mexican spicy chicken wings all day, get it while you can.

So if you're feeling like you're a bit tired of your regular beer and you want to spice it up on the 23rd, head on over to Heyday on Taranaki Street – they'll even spice your sour up with some gin if you ask politely.
