Overview
Steve Gunn's known as a "helluva nice guy", and this comes through in his gentler solo act, coming to Caroline this weekend. Gunn has done his time in punk and hardcore bands, most notably Kurt Vile's band The Violators. He has now struck out on his own and his new music is a departure from his old gigs with Vile.
He takes his inspiration for his guitar work from many sources — among them jazz and Indian music — and this comes through in varied nuance throughout his tracks. His new album Eyes on the Line is truly impressive. He's inventive, full of character and cleverness. Catch his riffs and runs at Caroline.
