Sugar Flour Pastry Pop-Up
Kilbirnie's weekend patisserie is heading back for one day.
Overview
Before it was a world-class pastry school, Kilbirnie's Sugar Flour was an open-door weekend patisserie serving exquisite pastries and delectable French sweets. If you've already joined one of the live-streamed baking box classes or attended one of the in-person sessions you might be able to whip up a textural tart or pipe your own cake — but nothing is as good as the real thing.
French trained pastry chef Maxine Scheckter is bringing back the little patisserie for one day this month. The pop-up will feature a lineup of Sugar Flour favourites, as well as new creations and large versions from the Charley Noble high tea collaboration.
There will be a selection of about eight pastries on the day, which will set you back between $9 and $12. Save some room for black sesame praline spheres, gingerbread man petit gateaux, matcha and yuzu petit gateaux, and the much-loved speculaas caramel petit gateaux. All items will be available for takeaway only.
