Overview

A new outdoor festival celebrating everything 'wild' in local nosh is set to take over Hannah's Laneway, so prepare to let your tastebuds delve into exciting new territory.

Superwild is a celebration of natural wine, fermented beer and cider and wild fare from local producers — as well as a few exciting international representatives.

The one-day festival taking place on Saturday, February 19 is a collaboration between some of the city's finest eateries and bars: award-winning restaurant Shepherd, hidden wine bar Puffin, city stalwart Golding's Free Dive and their sister supplier Pizza Pomodoro, beer experts Garage Project, and baking legends Leeds Street Bakery.

A real whānau affair, all the collaborating businesses involved are pulling together a list of their friends and favourite suppliers to pour, cook, and showcase on the day.

A full list of vendors has yet to be announced, but organisers have told Concrete Playground attendees can expect to see special wines from Black Estate and A Thousand Gods, beers from 8Wired and North End and fare from Cloudy Bay Clams and Awatoru Wild Food.

Running from 12pm-7pm, entry is free but the festival runs on a "pay on consumption" model — so come with empty bellies and full pockets.
