Superwild
After last year's COVID cancellation, Wellington's neighbourhood festival celebrating wild food, wine and beer is finally here.
Overview
Good news for those who love to get a bit experimental with their drops and eats. After the inaugural Superwild was cancelled amid last year's COVID outbreak, it's finally here for 2023 in a revised format, bringing an exploration and celebration of all things wild. Think funky natural wines, wild brewed beers and fermented foods.
The event will be held around various Te Aro institutions including Golding's Free Dive, Puffin Wine Bar, and the newly opened Humdinger. Venues will host a range of local producers and international representatives in an exciting collaboration that'll showcase some of the best produce in the game.
Try some natty wine from the likes of Black Estate, Bryterlater, A Thousand Gods and Brood Fermentation. Plus, local beers from 8Wired, North End and more. If you are more into cider and pét nat, Frut Cru and Peckham's will be pouring some fresh drops too. Then, when hunger strikes there will be plenty of food on offer from Awatoru Wild Food, Premium Game Meats and more.
The event will take place from midday on Saturday, February 25 until 8pm with free entry to all venues. And if speed metal is your thing, don't miss out on the afterparty at Humdinger to wrap up your already epic day.
