Overview

The Best Things in Life Come Wrapped in Cellophane is the latest exhibition from artist Jade Townsend. The Maori/English artist works across disciplines, from drawing and painting to window installations and stained glass.

Jade's practice explores the relationship between human values and the material world. Her work has a playful element to it, combining cultural and spiritual, animals and brightly coloured geometric patterns. Her recent work involves using 'direct' mediums, such as collage and other lo-fi techniques, to examine processes of transformation, renewal, decay and transcendence.
