Overview
Multidisciplinary physical movement company Muscle Mouth explore the peaks and troughs of the creative process with their new show Triumphs and Other Alternatives.
The Wellington-based collective produces live performance, visual art and installation art works. Triumphs and Other Alternatives is the company’s second full-length performance work.
The show is led by acclaimed dancer and choreographer Ross McCormack, who returns to New Zealand after performing across Europe as a member of Les Ballets C de la B. Taking some influence from the ground-breaking Belgian dance outfit, Triumphs and Other Alternatives pushes the envelope by melding sculpture and physical performance, a combination that has been pegged as a brand new style of Physical Movement Theatre.
Performing alongside McCormack are dancers Emily Adams from Auckland and James Vu Ahn Pham, winner of “Best Male Dancer” at the 2014 Helpmann Awards.
