Two Day Plays

What could possibly be harder than putting together a show, getting it stage-ready, and then performing it in a competition? Doing all of that in just two days, that’s what.

Overview

Two Day Plays is an award-winning fast-paced theatre making in the tradition of the 48Hours film competition. Teams must put together ten minute long plays in the space of a weekend and then go on to compete against each other in heats. Two teams from each heat will be selected by judges and the audience, to progress through to the grand final where the eventual winner will be chosen.

Judged by Adrianne Roberts (Producer for Show Pony), Cherie Jacobson (Programme Manager for BATS Theatre), James McKinnon (Director of the Theatre programme at Vic Uni), Michael Wray (Chapman Tripp judge, professional audience member) and Dean Hewison (Writer / Director / Two Day Plays Producer), the competition is intense and exciting. With no restrictions on the size of the team or age of the entrants, underdogs can beat old-timers, and all kinds of upset can occur.

Two Day Plays are a fantastic chance to witness fresh new talent, and theatre-making skill at its most raw, don’t miss out.
