Wellington Food Show
A massive delicatessen, an upmarket kitchenware shop, and the supermarket of your dreams all rolled into one.
Overview
The Wellington Food Show is quite a thing to behold. After writing last year's preview of the event, and getting peer-pressured by a friend I made my way along to the Westpac Stadium in search of the descriptor - the "massive delicatessen, an upmarket kitchenware shop, and the supermarket of your dreams all rolled into one."
So I went. And it's true. Never have I seen so many samples of new and interesting foods in one place- you're going to get full, don't bother with breakfast. There was a cooking theatre (how dramatic!), hosting top chefs from around the world teaching you their techniques. There were stall upon stall and horde upon horde of food lovers. It was great.
And this year it's happening all over again! Entry includes the chance to learn from cooks such as Martin Bosley, Kyle Street (of Depot), Ray McVinnie and Emma Galloway (of food blog My Darling Lemon Thyme) among others. And tickets come in half-day or full day passes, depending on how full you want to get.
