Easy-to-Achieve Hairstyles You Should Add to Your Repertoire

Lacking the confidence to level up your hair styling game? Follow these step-by-step tutorials to create three great looks.

If you spend any time on social media (which, of course, you do), you would’ve seen ’em: the people that make having beautifully styled locks look completely effortless.

While we can’t tell you that it’s completely woke-up-like-this levels of effortless, there is some good news: a little bit can go a long way. Especially when you have a little expertise and the right tools to back you up.

That’s where Dyson comes in. We got in touch with Dyson Senior Stylist Liz Ferarro to share her step-by-step hair tutorials for three sleek looks — each of which can be achieved using the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener.

The Prep

Here's what to do before your styling sesh begins.

Start by parting your hair on desired parting. Section top to bottom and into left and right. Pre-set the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener before starting to the desired temperature. For fine and coloured hair we recommend 165 degrees. For thicker, curly or coily hair, you have the option to increase the temperature to suit your hair type.

Look One

Natural Loose Curls

Great for: amping up your everyday look.

Working from the back to front of your hair, start with a 2cm section, hold your Dyson Corrale™ Straightener upright with the clamp facing forward. Place a section of hair between the Dyson Corrale™ Flexing plates and hold, then twist the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener away from the face.
Glide the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener slowly straight down then repeat on opposite side always working away from face.
Around the face you can create natutal s-waves for a softer look by tapping the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener as you are creating a s- shape with you hair — this will create a more soft natural look.
To finish your style, use the Dyson Supersonic™ Flyaway attachment on top to tame flyaways.
Spray with desired finishing spray or texture spray, using your Dyson detangling comb to gently comb through to separate your curls.
Apply finishing cream on the ends to tame.

Look Two

Vintage Waves

Great for: adding classic glamour to your next date night.

Working from the back of the head, place the Dyson Corrale™ straightener parallel to the parting. Point towards the face working with 1 inch to 2 inch sections. Rotate the straightener a full turn and glide down.
Tip: Always point the Dyson Corrale™ straightener in the same direction making sure curls are all going the same way. On the opposite side of your face, the Dyson Corrale™ straightener will be pointed away from your face.
After letting your curls cool down and set, apply desired finishing spray.
Now using your Dyson paddle brush, brush out the curls to create height.
Back comb the top section from underneath, ensuring you back comb from 3-4 layers under. Repeat this on the side sections at the back.
Next, turn your curls into waves by combing out using your Dyson detangling comb and then apply desired finishing spray to finish off and set your style.

Look Three

Beach Waves

Great for: when you want to bring the holiday vibes.

Working from the back to the front of the hair, start with a 2cm section, hold the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener upright with the Dyson Flexing plates facing forward.
Place a section of hair between the plates, secure, and then twist the Dyson Corrale™ Straightener away from the face, slowly guiding the Corrale straight down, leaving an inch or two of the ends to create a beachy wave. Repeat on both sides until you reach the top and crown area.
Run your Dyson Supersonic™ Flyaway attachment over the top layer of your hair to tame any flyaways.
Avoid touching the curls until your hair is completely finished and give yourself a couple of minutes for the style to set. Touch up the ends of your hair by running your Dyson Corrale™ Straightener on the ends to create a straighter smoother finish if needed.
Spray with desired finishing spray or texture spray and use your Dyson detangling comb or Dyson Supersonic™ wide tooth comb attachment to separate your waves.
To finish, applying finishing cream on the ends.
