Overview
Auckland-based food truck Miam Miam is best known for its traditional French-style sausages and hot dogs.
While you'd usually find the mobile vendor set up at markets across the city, you no longer need to head out on a sausage hunt, as owner Sébastien Barré launches a delivery service for his range of chipolata, merguez and Toulouse snags.
Miam Miam's section of gluten-free sausages contain New Zealand proteins and imported spice blends. The North African-spiced merguez is full-flavoured blend of beef and lamb, while the chipolata is French-spiced pork creation, and the Toulouse is a much-loved southern specialty infused with white wine. The latter comes as a one-metre-long link, which is perfect for sharing. And if you're overwhelmed by the selection, Miam Miam also offers packs combining all three flavour options.
Barré makes the French-style sausages every fortnight before snap freezing to retain flavour. His advice when cooking is to crank the oven to 200 degrees and to "never pierce the sausages," as it will lead to loss of moisture.
Miam Miam's sausage delivery is available country-wide. For more information, visit miammiam.co.nz.
