Overview

A brand new, brightly coloured addition to Hannah's Laneway is set to sling tacos and burritos all summer long.

Donnie Taco is the new electric pink and green taco truck you've probably already spotted during your sojourns into the CBD.

It's yet another new venture from the team behind other beloved Pōneke eateries Golding's Free Dive and Leeds Street Bakery, with owner Sheperd Elliot snapping up former Viva Mexico head chef Luis Gerardo Guajardo Sandoval to bring his taco expertise.

The small but perfectly formed menu includes vegetarian options to turn any carnivore's head, like the 'Mushie': a taco filled with mushrooms, pickled onions, spinach, roast corn and guacamole. More traditional offerings like pork and chicken are also on offer — with generous helpings of guacamole, of course. We're also very keen to try the 'Filthy Quesedilla': a simple but effective mix of cheese, beans and bacon.

You can't miss the truck, located directly opposite Golding's. And the best part? You can enjoy your Donnie Taco dine-in at Golding's, to wash down your spicy burrito with a few brews.
