Invercargill Public Art Gallery
Visit the gallery’s collection of over 100 pieces — from early to contemporary works by NZ and international greats, including NZ heavyweights like CF Goldie, Rita Angus and Ralph Hotere.
Overview
The lovely thing about the Invercargill Public Art Gallery is that the town's residents really, really wanted a gallery, lobbied for it and were finally granted their repository of art in 1951. That's how important art is in Southland. The gallery boasts a permanent collection of over 100 pieces from early to contemporary works by New Zealand and international greats.
