Moeraki Boulders
Make tracks to Koekohe Beach in Otago to explore the mysterious, perfectly round yet all natural boulders formed millions of years ago out of hardened sea sediment.
Overview
The gigantic Moeraki Boulders found along Koekohe Beach are truly something to behold. It's hard to believe that these spheres of concrete are all natural. The boulders measure up to three metres in diameter and weigh seven tons. Walking the length of the beach and getting up close to these fascinating forms will only take about ten minutes, barring the time taken to get the best shot for your 'gram.
