Overview
The travelling industry is bracing for the massive impact of COVID-19. Over the weekend the NZ Government announced that all international travellers arriving in the country must self-isolate for two weeks, while Air New Zealand has revealed that it is reducing capacity across its long-haul network by 85 percent.
In an effort to support Wellington residents who have had their international trip cancelled without a refund, Lambton Quay's Park Hotel is offering a pay-what-you-can-afford promotion. Stranded travellers can enjoy a three-night stay at the contemporary four-star property for as little as $1.
Guests will also have complimentary access to the Les Mills gym and the property's fleet of Green Jersey bikes. The all-day room service menu from Sterling Eatery and Bar will include an additional cost.
Of course, there are some terms and conditions that go with the outrageous deal. It will only be available for 48 hours, beginning at 9.30am on Monday, 16 March. Sufficient proof of cancellation of wholly or partly non-refundable international trip must be provided for holidays booked to depart after 14 March, 2020. And the deal is on a first come, first serve basis.
Bookings are only available for stays Friday through Monday and the stay period must be before 31 August, 2020.
