Overview

As well as taking the stage at Laneway Festival in Auckland, electronic wunderkind Flying Lotus will perform one sideshow in Auckland.

The Los Angeles music producer has a colourful output of work. His five albums experiment with multiple genres of music with an underlying theme of hip hop meets jazz. In between his own work, FlyLo has produced music for Cartoon Network's Adult Swim, film and even has a radio station dedicated to his work on the video game Grand Theft Auto V. He also raps under the persona Captain Murphy.

For his New Zealand performances FlyLo will dust off his 3D visual show, which is fully improvised live by a graphics team throughout the show. The fusion of technological innovation and experimental beat making has been explained as “a mind-expanding plasm.” The visit down under will support the release of his latest album You’re Dead!.
