Overview

In the same way that Beyonce's Awol Erizku-shot Instagram pregnancy announcement sent pure joy and respite to all from the tire fire that is 2017, Power Plant is here to bring you magical lights and more distractions with its 'glittering nocturnal symphony', 'outerwordly sounds' and 'intoxicating atmosphere'.

Originally commissioned in 2005 by Oxford Contemporary Music together with the University of Oxford Botanic Garden, Power Plant has grown into a critically acclaimed exhibition. It has shown at the Edinburgh Festival, Sydney Festival, Hong Kong Arts Festival, Ten Days on the Island in Tasmania and Lumiere, the largest light festival in the United Kingdom.

The Auckland Domain's self-guided sound and light show was created by five international artists, Mark Anderson, Anne Bean, Jony Easterby, Ulf Mark Pedersen and Kirsten Reynolds, specifically for the site.
