Overview

Ahead of supporting The Kills this Thursday, local power-pop four-piece The Beths will assemble on a much smaller stage at Ponsonby's Golden Dawn for those who missed out on tickets.

All members of ten-piece big band Sal Valentine and The Babyshakes, the group came together after simultaneously having the urge to create a guitar band. The band is made up of Elizabeth Stokes on main vocals and guitar, Jonathan Pearce on lead guitar, Benjamin Sinclair on bass and Ivan Luketina-Johnston on the skins - with the latter three all providing the group's signature backing vocals.

In the band's short lifespan they have released the five-song EP Warm Blood and become known for their peppy live shows - a special feature of which being 'red hot pep pep', whereby they listen to and immediately attempt to recreate a song by The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
